Ghost Land was inspired by my natural surroundings, living in the Adelaide Hills and having many different types of Gum trees in the area. During the first wave of Covid it made me have a new appreciation for my local area and in particular all the different walks I didn’t even know where right by my house. This piece is a representation of an imagined landscape, using visual references of actual trees near my house and the name being not only representative of the Ghost Gum featured in the centre but also the time in which it was painted. It really did feel like a Ghost Land walking around.
